I have to be honest, I tried to make this a top 10 but I just couldn't choose anything from this list to remove! I truly use each of these products every single day (on the days that I actually wear makeup) and they really do complete the job and create a full "I didn't try but I really did" look! I have always loved makeup and watching makeup tutorials and after much trial and error, I can confidently say these items are my all-time favorites.
The reason I love these items is because they are a blend of drug store and lower high-end items. For instance, my foundation is only $8! You do not have to spend a million bucks to look like a million bucks!
Most items below are linked to a major retailer so it will be easier to return to the store or switch your color out if you aren't completely happy.
1. Farsali Rose Gold Elixir $54
This is the newest addition to my makeup routine, but honestly the most important! It keeps your skin hydrated and reduces the appearance of fine lines, which is so important for your makeup to look great. I apply this onto clean skin and blend with a Beauty Blender (lips, too!) It is the most expensive item on the list, but I predict it will last over a year since you only use 2-3 drops per use!
2. Beauty Blender $20
There are a lot of "fakes" out on the market because a $20 sponge does sound ridiculous. HOWEVER there is no close second to the Beauty Blender. I use mine for 4 different steps of my beauty routine (Farsali oil, Foundation, Concealer, Powder) so it is really important to have the right one! I also wash mine daily with soap and water before using it.
3. Glossier Priming Moisturizer $22
I have grown to love Glossier. Their products are so clean and a little goes a long way. Even if you don't have a "pore problem" I would highly suggest using a primer before your foundation! It makes it go on smoother and also helps to give you airbrushed looking skin. This primer visibly plumps your skin and leaves you with a clean, dewy finish! Let dry before applying your foundation.
4. Maybelline "Fit Me" Matte + Poreless Foundation $7.99
I love that my foundation costs $8 and I can get it anywhere! I have tried all kinds of high end brands of foundation and I always come back to this! I use shade 310 Sun Beige when I have any sort of a tan and it is a beautiful color. It lasts all day and is full-coverage.
5. Laura Mercier Translucent Loose Setting Powder $38
I have also tried all types of cheaper setting powders (or "baking powder" if you're new to this!) but I have yet to find something that works this well. I apply this onto my concealed under eyes using a damp Beauty Blender and brush off the excess with a fluffy brush. It completely "wakes up" your face making you look like you slept 8 hours when we all know you probably didn't. ;)
6. Maybelline Instant Age Rewind Concealer $9.99
This stuff is pure magic. Again, I have tried so many high end concealers and they all left me feeling like I put frosting on my face. This is lightweight, buildable, and works with so many different skin tones. It pairs so well with the setting powder mentioned above!
7. Nars "Orgasm" Blush $30
I know a lot of people like to collect an array of colors of blush, lipsticks and eyeshadows, but when you find the best, why keep shopping? Nars "Orgasm" blush can pretty much be your go-to every day color unless you're fancy and want options! It is a beautiful soft pink with peach undertones and it looks great on everyone.
8. Hoola Matte Bronzer $29
I could copy and paste what I said above about the blush, except about this bronzer! I have a huge collection of bronzers, both high end and drug store alike, but I always come back to this one. It is a dusty brown that is never orange and is so beautiful to contour with or just bronze up your face and chest!
9. Carli Bybel Deluxe Eyeshadow + Highlighter Palette $22.50
I could write a book right here because I love, love, love this item and it may be my favorite thing on the list. In fact, I brought it to a "Favorite Things" party last Christmas as my ultimate favorite find of 2017. This is the *only* palette I use for eyeshadows and highlighters. You can do so many looks with it! And it is $22! I have had mine for a year and it is still completely full. HIGHLY RECOMMEND THIS ITEM!
10. Huda Beauty "Wifey" Matte Lipstick $20
I wear this color every single day. It's just enough to make you feel like you "tried" except it doesn't scream "I'm wearing lipstick to Costco." It can be dressed up with a lip pencil (click here for complimentary shade).
11. Anastasia Beverly Hills Brow Wiz $21
I saved the best for last. I am weirdly obsessed with doing my eyebrows. Even if I am wearing no makeup I usually do my eyebrows before leaving the house! It truly changes your whole face and the Brow Wiz makes it so easy! There are a lot of tutorials that show you the best way to use it! I use the shade Dark Brown.
Lastly, if you are "makeup challenged" and your mom didn't teach you how to wear makeup in 5th grade like mine did (thanks for the expensive habit, mom!) here are some of my favorite ladies to follow on Instagram:
"The Ultimate" Makeup Mirror
I was gifted with this amazing lighted vanity mirror for my 30th birthday! I am linking it here - it comes in gold, white, black, silver and rose gold!
